Help me decide on a Macro lens for Nikon D40

Both lenses do 1:1 magnification and have similar depth of field. The min focus distance doesn't affect the closeness of view. Actually, for some subjects, the 15" focus distance may be better (e.g. stinging insects or corals placed away from the walls of the tank. But, as has been said, both are excellent lenses (as are the others mentioned in this thread).
 
I love my Sigma 150 and bought it used for $420. To me it is the perfect focal length for the tank and works great with my D40. I have also used it for sports and it works great. 99% of my shots are hand held. I do not miss or feel the need for VR.

Mike thanks for the reply. I would love to see some macro examples with the D40/sigma 150mm combination if you don't mind :)
 
These are all 100% crops so you can see the detail.

Tripod, manual focus, f4.5. These are tiny. Slightly bigger than the head of a pin.
