So im looking to upgrade a light on my 29 gallon tank, no corals yet but its going to be something simple. Im trying to decide between current orbit marine led and marsaqua dimmable led(chinese) or keep what i have now, wich is coralife t5.Just change the bulbs and add a atnic strip. What do you think?

I'm new to the hobby also, but I just got a Current-USA LED and I love it. Very programmable and has nice weather effects. It's also very low profile

Current USA all the way. The programing it kind of difficult to figure out but I am a Noobie and figured it out. You will love these lights.

Been running these lights since first setting up my tank in july and they work great. Corals and fish seem to all be happy.

I have the current on one of my smaller tanks and it does nice. A nice priced entry level light with program-ability and the ability to keep most corals just fine.

Get the MarsAqua and you'll be much happier in the long run. You have an 18" deep tank and the Current fixture will probably work OK. At 24" deep they are under powered. See the wattage of the power supply, well, divide that by the number of leds and you'll find you are running about 0.5 or 0.7 watts per led. Do the same with the MarsAqua and you'll be at 1.88 watts per led. Try some of the other Chinese fixtures and you'll find they are at 2.2 watts per led.

Even the Current webside shows the pathetic PAR they put out, and then they say the really low PAR values will grow zoas and softies... not so much.

I only offer you this because I have a PAR meter and have helped out a lot of people in our local club. A few have had Current and Marineland fixtures and struggled to grow coral well. They upgraded and what do you know... coral growth!

Ron has a good point.

I have had the current USA on my 60g for 10 months. It has done a decent job on softies but two weeks ago I went out and bought a fluval marine and reef to run along side of it. Already there is a big difference in the color of my corals. If you go with the current usa get 2!

There is an massive difference when the fluval and USA are both on. Your corals will much appreciate it.
