Hello Guys,

Please help me pick the right streams for my new tank. I'm thinking of getting 2 Turbelle Stream 6000 + Multicontroller 7095 for the tank. Do you think I should get two 6100's instead of the 6000's ? The tank is about 95 gallons ( 36x24x25)

I think your choice is correct, that is providing it will be SPS and without sugar sand. Two 6100's will probably be too much.

What about in a mixed 90gl reef tank, what would you reccomend?

Hello Rvitko,

I plan on having a semi mixed reef in this tank with mostly sps, and about an inch of sugar sized sand at the bottom. Can I turn down the power of the streams with the controller if I find they are blowing too hard ?

You can turn them down. The sand will be a problem though, especially since at a 1" depth it will never really establish much life to help cement the grains. The sand can damage the pumps if it gets in them.

Maybe you could give me a recomendation. I have 200 gal. reef ready Oceanic tank (84" long). It has been up about one year and have some sps corals and a few soft corals. I have just two little giant return pumps so the flow is not great. The tank has the built in overflows and I keep the water pretty high. I really need to increase the flow but I am concerned about having to keep the water low to use the Wave box. Also, what about the stress on the joints?

Your recommendations are greatly apprecitated.

You would have to reduce your return flow and router down the overflow notches to use a wavebox, and yes, it does shorten tank life some as it stresses the seems to have a surge flow.

The wavebox is an adjunct to flow and not a flow solution on it's own. I would probably start with adding a couple Stream pumps. A TS24 would be the best bet if your focus is going to be SPS.
