Help me with Equipment selection....

have a question here...

I have 1 kg bottle of fauna calciumchloride dihydrate,
if I read correctly this large bottle makes 2 litres (67.62 ounces) of rodi only???

seems like allot of powder for the little water??

Yep and then add another 500ml once dissolved, you are making a very high strength solution to near saturation point where some salt will remain in solid form, this is normal also.

ahh ok i saw 4 litre in instructions, did not see the continue filling tio 5 liter.

now im trying to break down the dosing examples for smaller 28G tank.. :crazy1:

should try 1 or 2 ml dose to see calcium rise as example states for larger tank?

dose 20ml of each to start and raise from there.

Well dosed 20ml and calcium went from 445 to 480. What dose do you suggest I set in program?

your calcium is way too high at present so dont dose any CA until you get down to around 400, and your DKh should be around 7 or slightly above. You will have unstable pH at this high value.

Once down dose 5ml and then test again

paramaters are almost back like they where but ALK is still high.

ca: 440
kh 13.4
mg 1350
ph 8.01

suggestions on how can I get ALK lower?
I stopped dosing when you suggeste to stop.. My kh was 10.2 before

The only dosing done was that initial calcium 20ml suggestion, no other dosing
other than wter changes using tropic marin pro reef salt with RODI (0ppm) water

thanks
Joe

lucky i have no corals... trying to keep consistant numbers before contibuing and adding sps corals...

I know for sure I can get my water paramaters right by unplugging/eliminating profilux amd balling and going with my old proven method with KW.

working on keeping paramaters solid.. any suggestions on what do?
I know with tese Ca and Kh swings corals would have died.

you calcium is high also, only way to get it down is by water changes. And dont dose until down.

Are you sure these results are accurate? Having a ca of 440 and a DKH of 13+ is quite hard to achieve :(

I know I know...

in post #45 10/6 my Alk was 10.2 Ca was 420.

then added 20ml as suggested (post #46)

then as you suggested to stop dosing, I did.. and all is crazy now.

All being done is weekly water changes of 5 gal.

I just did a WC 2 days ago, and will do another later this week.

just in case i did a bad test, did 2 more tests (salifert) and came up with:

test#1 12.6kh
test#2 12.5kh

I am preparing another 5gal for another WC.. I will also test fresh batch to see what kh reading I get before changing water.

since nothing has been added or changed to water,
I purchased a new Kh test kit.. and guess what...

did 2 tests and new kit shows water in tank is 10.1kh

ph is a tad low, I will do a 5 gal WC in a bit...

Can you help with ATO using dose pump#4?

I have profilux optical water level sensor and sensor bar.
I will connect optical water sensor to Level port #3 in pluxIIex
I have profilux dosing pump #4 just for ATO (ro/di water)

In Probe/sensor controls ... Level I activated Level3 and set as Auto Top Off (always active is set) Activated through timer 1 set??

How do I link or assign pump #4 so it works with level sensor #3??
