What is this, just found recently? Has what looks to be like tentacles with holes. Also found a white one on the back of my rock with alot more tentacles and holes. Just got the anne. you see right near it. Just wondering if that is a split?:bum:

Its still real hard to make anything out. Maybe a sponge?

I've never had an anemonae, but when it splits you'll know it b/c it'll look like a smaller version of itself.

Looks like a purple sponge trying to reproduce. They will do that when stressed. Did you just get that rock?

no only thing new is ann. And I dont have any other sponges like this. Does anyone have a pic of a sponge like this? thanks for your help!

The sponge as it expands its growth will kind of encrust the rock. There is nothing wrong with this sponge. I have that perticular colored one in my own tank. The only thing that might pose a threat is if it decides to grow inside a colonial polyp of some sort. I have seen these type of sponges grow and choke out the surrounding coral.

Sponges come in all kinds of colors and shapes.

I have sponges that color purple too. I have some white sponges that like to form appendages that stick out into the water. I also have beige colored encrusting sponges (they tend to grow out of light), and one or two black sponges. . . and even some yellow
