I have a mated pair percular clowns in a 3ft tank only other fish is a dottyback. Salt 1023 all other chemical tests are normal. Have had the clowns for 6 months this behaviour has been going on for a while and iv no idea why he is doing this
The male goes to two different spots on the bottom of tank and either lies there straight without moving or on his side (breathing normal). He can stay like this for up to 3 mins, he eats good swims around normal and seems to have a good relationship with his female mate they swim & sleep together. there were two rather dominating chromies in the tank as well and i thought he may have done this as defending territory (the male &chromis in same spot)so i took the chromies out and he still does it! Is he sick? is this normal behaviour for a clown?? All fish are in good health no sign of parasites or nipping/fighting behaviour. This is my first go at mated clownfish....Any info would be much appreciated :=)
