Help ... Need a Clownfish Medic!

Yesterday during the day I noticed my Female Percula Clown was breathing a bit hard however I didn't think much of it because she was swimming as usual and eating. However when I turned off the lights ... she went to sleep in a very unusual way. Usually both my Female Percula and Male Oscellaris kind of dance above a certain spot and sleep. Last night my Percula simply sat down on the sand and since then she's been acting funny. She won't swim around unless provoked although she tries to hover on her own strength she simply sits down. I checked my water parameters immediately last night and nothing was off ... She is physically un-damaged and has no fin, skin, or gill problems. I just tried feeding her and she is not interested. I've had her for nearly 3 years ...

Dude I wish I could help you ....a fish medic I am not.....I truly do hope she is allright though......surely someone here can help.....??????

if i notice any issue with my clowns, my first instinct is to do a water change. better quality is always a good thing. unless you know what the problem/parasite.etc is, mistreating can cause further issues.

for now just keep eye on it. feed sparingly. her color looks good so that is a good sign.

hopefully others will address your concern.

good luck.

EmbryoGuy: My water parameters are ideal, so no WC is going to be done ... I think it might stress her a bit more too. She is sitting at the corner of my Tru Vu so I get that magnification going and can't spot any parasites on her ... Thanks for the concern!

Shadow: I know man :( However it's not like that all the time I just took a pic when she was laying down cuz it's not blurry... she will swim for a minute and then lay down. Whatever it is she's putting up a hell of a fight!

It would definitely appear that she is ....I was thinking the same thing myself once I saw the very next pic......I really feel for ya man.....I have had something similar happen to me and you kinda feel helpless.....

in freshwater fish, changing the diet may help with those invisible symptoms. I'm new to reef, so not sure if that may help.

My false clown did the same thing for 3 days! Up down up down..... but it was after my other clown died. I didn't know what it was so I didn't know what to do but wait and sure enough its fine now! I dunno...

I believe there are a number of bacterial infections that can cause bouyancy problems. I would pull her immediately and treat for bacterial infection. I am NOT an expert though I'm sure someone else will chime in with more experience.

That sucks Choco, I hope she pulls through. I can't see anything. Do you have a hospital/QT setup to put her in?

Hello Everyone Thank You Graciously for Your Concerns ...

Shadow: She's still fighting and when I just got home she swam around for me for a minute or two ... I see no changes in physical appearance however I worry that she's not eating, I will try again in a few hours.

Omeg: She is on a diet variety from 2 vitamin enriched flake foods and Mysis Shrimp.

Hopestar: Yea I totally sensed that my other clown was trying to tell me something before this whole thing began!

Dantodd: Can you LINK me to any remedies for bacterial infections?

JotaDe: No QT tanks ... as long as she's fighting back I am going to leave her in there because It'll stress her out more if I move her. She's at least got the other clown's company.

MarinaP: ... No change in light schedule ... That's what it appeared to me but she seems disoriented and panting but not like when a fish gets ich and you can see their health decline rapidly and psychotic behavior from itching.
