Help! Need Rewiring Ballast Advise

I bought a Grosite 8bulb T5 lighting system. Here is the link of the fixture that I bought. The ballasts are "Fulham Racehorse Ballasts." I love the fixture and it works great except for the fact that both ballasts run on one plug. I want to know if it is possible (i think it is) and if so how do i add another plug. I have the plug already but have very little electrical experience. I took a picture of the wiring diagram but it is like reading French to me! Any advise would be awesome otherwise I will have to end up calling my electrician and having him do it. I am pretty handy just lack the electrical experience..

Here is a link to the fixture that I bought: http://www.customaquatic.com/estore/control/product/~product=LT-GRT548-8-SW

Here is a pic of the wiring diagram. hopefully someone can offer up some advise on how to do this. Thanks guys!

Sorry, I won't be able to help you, as I don't even managed to wire one ballast properly. And your post is from 2007... so I may be a little too late anyway.

Anyway...

How did you wire it? (the Fulham RaceHorse) When I tried to follow the diagram, it turned out like this:
Lamp 1: lightened perfectly
Lamp 2: slightly lightened
Lamp 3 and 4: nothing.

Basically, I wasn't able to understand how to plug in the orange and blue/white wires in the T5s. Do I have to bridge them somehow? (which would technically make sense, but see above result when I did so) Or should I just plug in one wire per lamp?

Honestly, I'm kinda lost... and when I contacted them, they were only able to tell me "you're doing it wrong! Here's the diagram", and they sent me the same diagram.

If you can help me, I would really appreciate it!!

Cheers!

take the black, white, and black/white wire and that connect to the plug to outlet.

you will have 8 endcaps 4 on each end.

on 1st set of endcaps (for 1 bulb) run the 2 yellow wires to one end and and 1 blue/white to the other end leaving 1 empty space for another wire in the endcap open

for bulb 2 run both brown wires to one end (the same end you ran the yellow wires on you other bulb) and the other blue/white wire to the other end leaving 1 empty space for another wire in the endcap open

as of now you have all wires in your endcaps for 2 bulbs but have 1 empty spot on 1 end of each of the bulbs. here you will cut a length of wire and run that wire to each of the open spots on the endcaps, now you have 2 bulbs wired completly

for bulb 3 run both blue wires to one end of the bulb and 1 orange wire to the other end leaving 1 empty space for another wire in the endcap open

for bulb 4 run both red wires to one end of the bulb (the side you ran the blue wires to) and the other orange wire to the other end leaving 1 empty space for another wire in the endcap open.

again you have all wires in your endcaps for the other 2 bulbs but have 1 empty spot on 1 end of each of the bulbs. here you will cut another length of wire and run that wire to each of the open spots on the endcaps, now you have all 4 bulbs wired completly

hope that helps

i should also mention it is completly diffrent wiring if you only want to run 1, 2, or 3 bulbs i am just guessing you will be running 4

and as for the 1st post and for future readers you can't add a 2nd plug to only run a couple of the bullbs off 1 ballast, to run 2 bulbs at 1 time and the other bulbs at a diffrent time you need seperate ballasts.

This is awesome! People at Fulham were not very helpful in this matter, so I'm glad I finally have a clear answer. I will try it tonight and let you know how it works!

Thanks again!
