Help needed to start new 6'x3'x14" zero edge

Zero edge

New member
Hi everyone, i want to start serious reefing again. It has been ten years since I had a tank. I now have a few Zoe's, mushrooms, 2 clowns, 4 damsile, 1 tang, etc... Fixing to be transferred to a 120g 4x2x2. It's a mix match tank. ----

Help needed is a new project I'm starting a 6'x3'x14" zero edge, was wondering if I can use 2 kessil a360we for this?

while it depends on what you're doing, 2 may not be enough. I'd really be looking at 3 for a 6ft tank...Kessil claims 24" coverage, so that would really mean 3 minimum.

is it actually zero-edge (waterfall over the edges?) or just rimless?

Tank being 36" wide, you'll need at least 6 kessils for full coverage.

Also, I'm wondering about the zero edge too. Waterfall sheet or just rimless?

While zero edge tanks look great they are somewhat of a headache with maintenance,
because of the thin sheet of water overflowing it means cleaning inside & outside the glass.

I could not imagine trying to level a 6x3 zero edge. It has to be perfectly level

Thanks for all the input, the tank is really 5'3"long x 2'4"wide and 14" deep. I'm currently running two kessil a350w on my mixed reef 4x2x12 and everything is doing great I have a third kessil if needed, not real sure about the maker of the edge tank but it's 1" thick acrylic beveled curved on the outside not just rimless.

Thinking about selling the zero edge--- my 4x2x12 is loosing one to two gallons of water a day, don't want to even think about the water loss in this zero edge tank,

**** Anyone have any idea what a tank like this sell for used but in good condition*****

not trying to do full coverage, just two small islands of Zoas and a few corals in the middle of the tank. These lights just cost so d. Much, mainly I wanted to have just two real small pendants hanging from the ceiling for a smooth look.
