Its not so much about what is best for the clowns since they get along just fine without an anemone. You want an anemone that works for your tank. Long tentacle are sweet but can take up a lot of space and are more sensitive than the BTAs. BTAs are easier, but don't get as big and some really like the long flowing tentacles. It is up to you and what your lights/tank can support.
My tank is a BioCube 29 with an AI Prime Hd light. I believe I have enough light.. maybe more limited on space. I know the anemone host the clown... but wondering what my best option and odds to what the clowns would be attached to?
It also depends on what type of anemone you like, i have two rbta, two rainbow bta and a gbta in my biocube 29 with two clarkii and two percula clowns. All of them goes in the bta, they move around from one bta to the other.
You cant have a natural host anemone for Ocellaris in a 29 gal tank. I had very good experience with Ocellaris host by H. Malu. A Malu will do fine in a 29 gal with sand
