Got this little beauty last week.. Everything was going fine till yesterday its base started to bleach out..
Everything else in the tank is doing fine as usual.

any input?

I thought the blue torts from ORA were cali torts... Maybe someone can double check me on that...

Looks like its bleaching on the shaded part. That would lead me to believe lack of light/flow to the area...

Hows the PE?

ORA sells both of them.

Haha... Well in that case, i purchased 1 two weeks ago...

Which one do I have?? I purchased it from liveaquaria.com

Heres a pic of it right after adding it to my tank:

It greened out a bit after shipping, but has "blued" back up again.

but as for a fish picking on my Oregon.. none of my fish are pickers.. i really dont wanna lose this frag cause it wasn't cheap. ha. if the bleaching continues to spread should i maybe try and cut the top half off to save the healthier sections?

PE refers to Polyp Extension.

I do believe I have the Cali tort. It remains lightly green on the body with nice blue tips. Is this right?

Do these blue torts prefer really intnse lighting or more moderate lighting? I ask because my blue tort from ORA has gone pale in my tank. It's located in the upper third of a 90 gallon bare bottom tank with overdriven T5 bulbs. Photoperiod of 8 hrs actinic, 4 hours daylights.

yeah the cali is green and blue..

the polyp extension on the oregon isn't as big as i assumed it was going to be (nothing compared to the cali) but there is definately PE during the day.. are the polyps of this coral normally short ?

i just looked at it right now and there seems to be pretty good PE from the top healthy areas but the Bleached area is def. dead.

oh and tank stock includes..

small blue tang
small yellow tang
false perc
coral beauty
2 cleaner shrimp
1-4 peppermint shrimp

i got the peppermint shrimp to take care of my aiptasia.. the only problems i've had with them is that they keep finding a way to get sucked into the overflow box (even with a screen over it) so i'm constantly pulling them out of the sump..

so i don't have a very good camera but this picture is from earlier today to show the location of the "oregon".. the sick frag is to the left of the Birdsnest and just to the left of the cleaner shrimp in the cave..

i guess it is more in the middle of the tank than the top but there is still good light/flow there..
