I'm just wondering how I contracted pink eye as I have had very little contact with other people lately. I'm somewhat disabled from a car accident for a while and spend most of the day at home.
Pink eye does not come from a "pinkeye" virus or bacteria. Pink eye is a general infection of the eye. It can be caused by any virus or bacteria, but it commonly comes from the cold virus.

After touching zoa's my finger tips started to dry out crack dry and peal it sucked and it has taken over 2 months to heal.

I am pretty sure I've felt the effects of palytoxins. I was cutting zoas one day for a frag swap, then my arm went numb. I then noticed I was really dizzy, but not really a spinning dizzy, kinda like some sort of interesting buzz. Then it stopped about 45 minutes later. My wife's right. This tank will be the death of me:). Has contact from zoas/palytoxin ever seriously hurt a person? I've seen where animals have died form contact, but not anything on human contact. Just curious.

I have been poisoned by palytoxin. first i was dizzy, then i sat down and threw up everything in my stomach. then i would pass out and wake up. then i started passing out with my eyes open. then my pulse would change speeds, even stopping. then i was taken to the hospital and cared for. they did an extreme body flush where i was given large ammounts of IV fluids to clear my blood out.

Letmegrow witnessed it. most of the time i lost conciousness, so i dont really know a whole lot about what the symptoms acctually looked like.

-- the docs were not sure about anything during the ER experiance. If you pee blood that is very very very bad. means you will probably die.

Yeah when Trottman administered palytoxin to his eye things were different. With all the vomit and personality changes I did not know if I should call an ambulance or exorcist.

You probably just have a crappy case of pink eye.
I always use a really hot wash cloth a couple times a day almost to the point of scalding my eye lid and it goes away really quickly.

Hello, a question about gloves. I have a pair of Coralife Aqua Gloves and find them difficult to work with. I can't wield or hold onto smaller objects (tweezers etc). Are there gloves that allow for a lot more dexterity? Tunze protective gloves?

When feeding some of my animals, I’d like to do so with my hands. I wash my hands often as it is. But is there a particular type of soap that is recommended? Just in case there is the tiniest bit of soap residue left on my hands? I try to find soaps without fragrance/dyes/lotion. Do I need an anti-bacterial soap? I would certainly rinse and dry my hands several times after soaping them and before putting them in the tank.

Also, my hands get dry sometimes. I’m assuming there is nothing that can remove lotion effectively. Lotion days should be glove days?

I just can’t imagine being a fish tasting soap, and waiting eagerly for the next water change.

I have fragged palys with small scratches on my hands (I'm a cat groomer) & they got red, puffy & *****--for about a week, I was squeezing the puss out of them. As far as my eyes, even after washing my hands 3x, I rubbed them & the next morning, they were so crusted over, I needed to wet them to open them. That lasted about 3 days & has happened to me 3x now. I still do not like to wear gloves though.
