So I've had Diamondback goby for two years now and I really wanted to get it a friend. While at my local fish store I saw another for sale that was around 3 inches, mine is fully grown at 6 inches. I sorta impulse bought it and put it in my 55g last night and its been eating and overall doing great. So far its been on the opposite side of the tank as my original goby, with the only encounter I've seen causing the larger one to gape its mouth and chase it in circles for a few seconds.
I was curious if there's anything to do to help urge them to pair. Maybe move both of them to a smaller enclosure (if it's not stressful). To my understanding, these gobies are hermaphrodites so gender isn't an issue. Id figure Id give it 2 months to pair before returning the small one back if it's unsuccessful.
