Help! PERCs FIGHTING BIG TIME, is this normal?

I'm fully aware that clowns, during paring, will decide who's going to be dominant female by fighting it out. They're both about that age where the sex change is likely to occur, and have definitely began sorting it out.

The problem is that after about 10 days of heavy bombardment the fighting has not stopped and i'm now worrying about the submissive clowns survival. His fins are tattered, color very faded, and he's got some pretty splotchy bruises around his face. The dominate clown will attack, he'll quiver, the fight stops and about 30 seconds later this process continues... all day, everyday. A couple of days ago he started hiding, only coming out when I feed. He'll eat what he can while running from the other clown & then dart back into the rock work.

At what point should you call it quits and separate the fish? Do I let this continue? These are my first clowns and am pretty worried.

I would get him up into a breeders net to give it some time to heal. Keep the net by where the other one hangs out so it does not think it chased it away and has won.
