help picking a return pump

Hi,

I purchased a few months back a new reeflo dart hybrid pump and finally got it installed only to find out that it is not strong enough to get the water from my fish room to my DT. It is rated for max head pressure of 12 feet, I thought 12' was enough but I guess I was wrong.

Now I need a pump and don't want to make the same mistake twice. I have about 10 feet vertical and about 15 feet horizontal with 6 90 degree elbows along the way.

Please let me know what external pump you would recommend for my needs.

Thanks,

Pat

I had someone suggest a reeflo Manta ray pump. I was thinking more along the lines of a reeflo Hammer Head?

FYI you are exceeding 12 feet of head loss, 1 90 degree bend is equal to 1 foot of head loss. You might also want to look into an Iwaki pressure pump

Go with the Hammerhead. I have one running at 17ft head loss and it has performed flawlessly for three years.

Using the calculator i have about 26 feet of head pressure, i am not sure if the hammer head will be strong enough. I think i will have to go with with the manta ray.
