Help Please !could this be something besides PM?

Hi, I woke up this AM to find my Derasa with a crimp in his mantle, actually two crimps one towards each end of the clam, but the one on the left is the worst.

He was fine yesterday. I added a crocea last week, but it isn't showing any signs of PM.

Could this be something besides PM...not seeing any thing on the shell that might be causing him to withdraw his mantle. Also, he isn't as responsive to touching and shadows as he usually is.

How long should I wait to see if it straightens out by itself before I do a fresh water dip?

My husband usually does the parameters check and he isn't here...I just have the strips and my nitrates are high at about 20 (I've been having a diatom/cyano bloom) water change is scheduled for later tonight (we're making RO/DI) but I don't know if I should wait to see if that fixes the clam.

Recommendations please!

Thanks much

I will wait for a week or more to see if it will get worst/better.
Are you sure no fish bit it ?
I dip my derasa about four months a go and is doing good no PM any more.

I held off on dipping and sure enough, it straightened out this afternoon....in my research I ran across a thread where someone said that Derasas don't get PM.... can someone confirm that for me?

As far as getting nipped by a fish I'm worried that may be what happened...I've cut back on feeding due to the nitrate readings and I'm wondering if my cuban hog or purple tang are nipping him. I also noticed that my flame hawk uses the Derasa as a bench landing on him repeatedly throughout the day. The Derasa doesn't seem to mind but it might be reacting to that.

Thanks.
