First thing is skim wet and increase flow by adding more powerheads, do large water changes and syphon all the big stuff, try not to overfeed from now on to keep nitrates and phosphate low, then after a week or two if its still there you can use chemiclean to remove it completely. You can use the chemiclean from the start but some people are against using chemicals.

What do you use for lights??? It seems to me when I end up with cyno its because the lights are bad and time to replace. Change GFO and a good % water change and siphon off all you can and you will be fine.

I only have like 15 nitrate but dnt have phosphate test kit so dnt know the percent... now m going to feed only once a day

are you dosing vodka or any other carbon source. like vinegar or bio pellets? this can add to the problem sometimes if you are cut the dosing back. either way follow pedros advice but if dosing carbon cut that back too.

You need to find someone to take care of it when you are gone then. Someone must be adding top off water now right? maybe you can get them to change filter socks etc??

Yeah my wife feed the fish and top off the water but she dnt know to do everything. .. anyways m going to run more gfo and carbon and cut off the lights a little

Hopefully you can teach her how to do some stuff if she is into having the tank and she has time. I work out of town occasionally myself and had to teach my oldest daughter how to do basic stuff and she calls me if she runs into trouble.

Were you able to kick it? I've had a reoccurring problem with cyano, always had low phosphates/nitrates, and still could not kick it in an established tank. I did some research and Chemiclean seemed like the best solution because it will not kill the beneficial bacteria in the tank.

I tried it and by the 4th day no cyano to be found and haven't had a problem since. I wish I would of used it a lot earlier and would recommend it.
