I have recently moved to a 220 and have a naso tang in there she is about 4 inches. She hasnt really ate anything that i have seen in a couple of days. I have had her for about a month now and she was doin fine. She has had a bit of a cloudy eye and it has started to puff up a little. I checked with a local store and they told me that the nitrites were high and that probably caused her to get sick. So i done a ton of water changes to bring the nitrtites down and hoped she would get better on her own. Well she didnt so i took her out and placed her in the qt with some recomended medication from the store. She was doin fine all day then i come home from work to find her laying on the ground almost suffering. I freaked out so i took her out gently placed her back in the 220. She perced right back up and started to swim. She is getting skinny and i hate to lose her.
What would you suggest?
thanks

Presence of nitrites usually indicates your tank hasn't fully cycled. Do you have test kits for ammonia and nitrites at home? I've read that low nitrite levels usually aren't harmful to most saltwater fish (unlike freshwater), though.

What medication did the store recommend? I don't know of any medications that can treat a fish for exposure to nitrites. Generally you just lower the nitrites and that's it.
