Help T5 OR MH

Hello guys im new to this I have a 40 gallon breeder tank. Im trying to figure out what light I need. I don't care about the Mh haveing the glitter affect so really whats the difference between t5 and mh. I like not to dark of a tank but not to bright some real nice coloring. What make lps expand better becouse thats whats mainly going to be in there couple of hammer's and frogspawns?
Please leave input !!! T5VSMH?????

If you have site where I can get these lights please leave.

Either will work in that application. If it were me I would go with the cheaper system. You can find lots for sale at great prices on the used equipment forum.

If you want LPS dominated STAY AWAY FROM T5! T5 are known not to care much for T5, especially overdriven T5. MH is much kinder to LPS/Softies because of the ability to have more places to put lower light critters because of shadowing and MH "hot spot" fade off.. You can put the LPS to the side of the tank so they dont get blasted, where as with T5, its just as bright on the ends as it is in the middle....the light is MUCH more homogenous in a T5 tank.
