Help Tuning Tunze Calcium reactor.

I have an older model (New) Tunze reactor 3174/3. what guidelines should I follow to help tune the unit. Some people say to adjust the bubble rate, others the drip rate. also, how to I keep the ca and kh up without decreasing the ph in the tank. I am going to buy a co2 controller on friday.. where do I put the probe in the tank or the affluent. any and all help would be grate
