Help - wavebox not working properly

I have two waveboxes run by a basic controller. One of my waveboxes only works sometimes. Meaning - it randomly decides to work and/or not work. It seems to follow the on/off cycle that my controller is running it at, it's just that the pump doesn't always turn on when it should be on. It never turns on when it shouldn't. Sometimes it runs fine, just like it should, for days on end.

I tried to rule out a few factors. I swapped the master and the slave leads for the pumps. The same wavebox had the same problem so that tells me the controller isn't malfunctioning. I then switched the power supplies and the same wavebox had the same problem - that ruled out a faulty power supply. At that point I realized it must be something wrong with the pump, so I took the entire wavebox and pump apart, cleaned everything (no obvious problems were found) yet it still continues to malfunction.

Any ideas for a solution. This thing is less than a year old and I just can't fork out another $300 for a new pump.

first thing would be to clean it based on the instructions at the top of the forum. If not does not help and Roger may have to look at the pump, there is a 2 year warranty from date of purchase with a receipt or date on the pump

I'll take it apart again and clean per the recommendations at the top of the forum and see what happens.

Sorry for thehastely written response, I was in a hurry when I posted last night. I noticed you mentioned you cleaned it already in the first post. I should have said had you taken the impeller out in the upper bearing when you did. It could be caused by the bearing or back of the impeller having build up and causing drag. Or if water cannot flow thru the impeller if clogged.

Keep me posted, as Shawn said, it has a 2 year warranty, all you would need to do if this doesn't solve the problem is send me the pump.

I sure will. I didn't have a chance to take it apart yet (been very busy), but I'll take it apart tonight and let you know.

Thanks Roger.
