Help-Weird reaction with Chemi-Pure

I'm doing a WC and was going to rinse out or swap my Chemi-Pure Elite and so I'm rinsing the media bag and the new bag it starts bleeding out this weird yellow color. It's kind of a reddish yellow, looks like high-iron content water if people know what that looks like.

Anyone have an idea of what this is? I haven't put the stuff in yet, and now I'm wondering if it's safe since it's giving off this weird color, thoughts? I'd really like to finish up the water change!

I wouldn't use it if in doubt. I've never used it I just run charcoal myself

usually when i rinse chemipure its like a muddy brown...about 4-5 rinses its not to bad your tank gets cloudy for a bit then its pretty crystal clear

Sounds like the GFO that comes in Chemipure Elite to me.... Rinse it throughly and use it IMO.

Sounds like what happens when I rinse mine, only sound like mine is a darker color.

Thats normal. Just rinse it good in a bucket of your tank water from the water change and use it. Always liked chemi pure, good stuff imo

Found out it is the ferric oxide resin beads popping (maybe why people go with granulated FO), you have to be VERY gentle with the stuff, the running water I was rinsing it in was popping the beads.
