HELP!!! weslo brain coral skeleton showing

hey guys,
i got a metallic green and purple weslo brain and its been doing great up until this week. i noticed the tissue on complete opposite sides of it is gone and the skeleton is showing. and now it is also starting in the underside of it also. all my parameters are good, and i do weekly 4 gallon water changes on the 28 gal system. any suggestions or thoughts would b great. i'll post pics when my lights come on

Whats are your phos/nitrates? When these are high it can lead to tissue recession..

nothin around it that could b stinging it its pretty well by its self, kinda like my center piece for my tank. idk what my phosphates are bu i run chemipur elite and water change one a week so they couldnt b that high....my nitrates are at zero.....and i looked up allelopathy but i honestly didnt understand wut the hell it meant....anyone out there could give me the definition that a normal person could understand? lolol thanks for the help guys its appreciated

Corals can produce chemicals that can spread in water (allelopathy), that can harm or stun the growth of other corals. They don't have to tough each other, just need to be close to each other. I made a mistake of placing to soft corals pretty close to each other once and other corals around them started to wilt.

If you're not testing your alk, now's a good time. Having high alk is key for correcting water chemistry problems.

what kind of fish do you have in the system with it? something may have gotten a taste for delicious brain coral?

black clown and a orange clown six line wrasse....imma have handzfree come test my alk for me

alk was good in fact all of his parameters are good

maybe some sort of pest on the coral killing it? going out on a limb here
