Nah, I doubt it. I purchased three frags from a local reefer and notice that all three had the stuff pictured above growing on the frags. I trashed two of them and kept one for dips, etc. I moved it to my frag rack and shortly after I noticed those things are now grown between my aquarium glass and the acrylic from my frag rack. Any other ideas??

Im going to say sponge. Ive seen some weird shapes that turn out to be sponges.

Wow, two for two on sponges. I'll try and take a closer look, maybe even use a microscope.

Sponges take on alllll sorts of shapes, i was very suprised when i started to recognize them.

It looks like Scypha sponges. I have them all over my overflows, and a few in my tank. They start off like that, and eventually start to look more "sponge" like.
