Help with aio return pump.

So I followed the advice of my local saltwater shop and bought a sicce 1.5 syncra silent pump because he said he would never put a dc pump on a system. Well this tank sits in my living room and is too loud. So I need a quieter pump. Thought about the IM mighty jets. 2-266 gph or 1- 326 gph. I figured DC was the quiet way to go but search here revealed they may not be all that quiet. Looking for recommendations.

Depends on the footprint you are working with. What tank is it/what is the return chamber size? That may be your limiting factor if the tank is a smaller size. Also not sure what the local shop is talking about, many people like the DC pumps, myself included. I do own a Sicce 1.5 Syncra Silent, and they can be loud. Might want to try a bit of rubber or filter sponge to cushion it from vibration before getting a whole new pump.

Thanks but have done all that can be done to cushion. The specs on the sicce work for this tank (pump size and gph). That’s why I looked at the mighty jets. 2 small ones or the one bigger work, but again it’s really the noise factor I’m trying to eliminate. Again I’m assuming a DC pump will be quieter, but was surprised to hear the mighty jets reviewed as noisy by some. So looking for something with these specs but known to be quiet.
