Help with alge

In my second tank I have a small porcupine puffer, a Copperband Butterfly and some corals. I have a question, yes its a faily newly setup tank and yes its still going through the alge cycles but what sorta alge consuming invertbrate, fish can I put in there which my puffer wont eat. I was thinking about a long spinned urchin. That seems to be the best alge comsumer which will be able to defend itself against the puffer. I want to avoid fishs if possible as its a 50 gal tank and I know the puffer will get large.

Read next time.
The tank is ovibiously finished with the nitogen cycle. Otherwise I wouldn't put such a delicate fish in there.
