Help with an Aussie Elegance coral

Hey so i picked up this elegance about 2 days ago from my LFS. This is an Aussir for sure as this LFS is a high praised who only deals with australian coral. At first i didn't noticed but when i got home (.the coral is in the shape of a S ) the coral had some receeding at one end about a inch in. It looked like the tenecles werent even there and a white cob web type substance was over this area. Yesturday when i got home half that area had bleached and died. So i panices and tried to feed it. It took to 2 feedings of mysis which hopefully is good. I got home from school just now and where the end of the die off was yesturday still hasnt moved. The coral is now HUGE. I guess the first few days it wasnt opened but now this thing grew a lot bigger. The mouths have none of that brown stuff that ive heard about. Should i just keep feeding and hope for the best? Should i move it to a shaded area? Btw it is in LED light in a cery low flow area. It also is a 75 gallon. I do have a flame angel hbut he doesnt bother the coral. I really dont want this thing to die. Ill post some photos from day one, yesturday and today after this post as well.

As of right now its taking to 2 cubes of mysis per day. It hasent receedes anymore. Should I put under shade?

I think it's looking like it's trying to recover... I've read and used with success coral amino acids... Brightwell and other makers, I use the Zeo's product. It could be coincidence or superstition, but when ever I get a new coral with some tissue damage lately, I've been using this and seems to help the corals recover...

I have one almost the same colour, clowns host it. Mine has been very hardy gl with it.

Update---I fed it again and it ate. Im doing 2 cubes of mysis per day to help. He seems to have opened larger the past 2 days. My only concerned is that where the bleaching is seems to be right next to one mouth, and it seems to have white cob web on half the mouth. Im really hoping Elegance Coral ends up seeing this thread

Has the rescission stopped on the left end of the coral?

Are the "white cob webs" just on the left end of the coral, or all over?

The "white cob webs" are mesenterial filaments. Part of the corals digestive system. The coral can extrude them in times of stress.

Are you running carbon?

Yes the recession has stopped and the white cob webs were only in that area for the first day or so. And no i am not running carbon. My equipment consists of a BH-2000 Reef Octo skimmer, a reef dynamics bio pellet reactor, a uv occasionally and my ATO, thats it. My WC is about 10 gallons every 2 weeks since the bio pellets keep the phospates and nitrates very low

Latly he seems to be more closed up, is he healing himself or developing tissue? He still is feeding and i see no more receeding except for the part of the skeleton that was showing since i got him.

You probably don't need to feed him so much. Let him rest a bit and digest his food. They get the majority of their nutrition through light. He has plenty of stored energy by now. Many people don't feed them at all. looks like you did a great rescue job!!!

Thanks, ive also noticed today while he was closed at night the the inch or so the was starting to show a little skeleton but still had flesh is now covered, now it seems like its starting to produce tissue to cover the dead skeleton areas. Hopefully he fully recovers and then i can them move him to the other side of the tank with a little more flow in a area where he can grow for years to harm and not bother a single coral. For the deal i got him for i am very happy espically that many ppl cant say they have a elegance as i know they are tough to care for, sooner or later hopefully ill rescue more corals for cheap, i saw the thread in the LPS forum about ppl who have got acolys cheap and saved them, im going to start to try more at saving dying corals. Now that im off topic lol, ill update this forum in a couple of days to hopefully show progress.

Any updates? I just got an elegance from a guy where something was nipping at the tentacles and they are gone. Hopefully I'll be able to save it but I'm total noob at LPS.
