I have a blue carpet thats around 12". He has been doing great for months but my wife fed him a shrimp and he spit it out but didnt notice until it was time to feed again that the shrimp was in the corner of the tank. She called me (I was out of town) and i told her to do a 5 gallon water change (its a 29 gallon nano). She did. Since then he keeps moving all over the tank and has not eaten. His mouth seems to stay open alot but he will not eat a piece of shrimp or silverside. I did a 10 gallon water change last night and he planted foot real good today but i havnt tried to feed. Until this he has not moved since we added him to the tank. What are your thoughts?

Well I do not like cooked carrots but I like ram carrots.

He could have just not liked the shrimp. He prob thinks that bad food is dropping down where he is sitting and should move.

Carpet in a 29g? I would highly suggest not feeding as long as your lighting is adequate, carpets get huge and can get everything they need through photosynthesis.

I have full led system from Steves LED's. Hes been doing good for 6 months and has been very happy... I alternative shrimp and silversides but i have been over feeding i guess but my son works graveyards at a local supermarket and beings home 1 fresh shrimp every 3-4 days. The perimeters got out of wack due to the one shrimp starting to rot and im just trying to make sure he didnt suffer too much.

Your cleanup crew didn't eat up the shrimp piece after the nem spit it out?

I only have a few snails in the nano. Its mainly just a clown and anenome tank. Its 29 gallon coralife and we do a 4.5 gallon water change every sunday just to keep everything level.

I think you feed him way too much and the condition of the tank may be poor becasue of this.
Also I would not feed him anything smelly (spoiled) and silverside, being a small fish frozen with gut, spoiled very quickly. I have never seen silverside that is not smelly, so I do not feed silver side to my anemone. The cost of silver side is huge, compare to human sea food. Silversider cost rival some of the more expensive sushi. Cost a lot and poor quality, I would be crazy to use silverside.

Feed only if you want him to growth. The how frequent depends on how much feeding. Remember that Anemone is mostly water so their biomass is a lot less than their size suggest. the most I would feed a 10 inches carpet is 2 cc of food every 3rd day
