I currently have a 72" aquaspace light with 3X 250w 10ks and 4 X 24w actinics over a 30" mixed reef (primarly LPS and SPS) . I want to add some supplimental lighting and would like some advice.
I read (here on RC i believe) that the standard VHOs are better for actinic than T5s, but that the T5s have more bang for the buck? Can someone help explain? Does that mean the VHO has better blue spectrum, but the T5s have more output?
Next question, anyone running any of these two in the 72" lengths? Seems like this is not a common size and availability is limited, especially in the T5. Any feed back would be appreciated.
