Help with diagnosis...

I am having the same issue after my tank move. Some of my corals look the same as yours did. I might have to get out the snippers!!!

This is the 5th time i can it has kick started new growth that i know of.I have noticed this at least 4 times on my own corals and now with you so I am quite convinced this is the way to go when a frag goes dormant and does not grow a bit for a long period of time.I had a mille that didnt grow a milimeter for a year then I cut all the old tips from it.It is now a 10 inch table after less then a year.If i left it alone I am sure it would still be a frag clinging to life.

I have done this with frags that have gone dormant a couple of times with success as well.

Yup, sure did.

My tank has not been happy lately... I was down one Vortech, my protein skimmer just hasn't been working right lately, and I got a bit laxed on the water changes.

Interestingly the frag I made a few weeks ago, clear across on the other side of the tank on a frag rack, also RTN'ed at the same time.

I cut three other pieces, and just left them on the floor of the tank (IME, this is the best way to save a frag from a TN'ing colony). Fingers crossed.

The coral will grow over it just like gluing it to a rock.

Nope... just have to chalk it up to a loss from the move I guess.
