nem seem fine, sticky and eating regularly ( twice a week, silversides ) but the color is concerning me. there are three of them in my tank ( split then another split ). lights are 400w 10k MH's and all parameters are dead on. ( last test temp 80.1, ph 8.2, trates 0, phates 0, alk 3.4, Ca 440, Mg 1400, I .05 ).

after the second split they all had a suicide pact and went for the overflow. but two months later the color doesn't seem normal, to much white. any help or comments please

the pumps are off in the pic so he's just floating :)

PS sorry SG 1.026

Your GBTA lost some zooxanthellae but will recover soon. Just give your GBTA some additional feedings and should be fine.

Try Mysis for a bit, and see what happens :) I feed silversides for a while, and mine grew ok, but I would see it eject uneaten food much later that day or at night. Since switching to Mysis, it sucks them all in, and I only see digested food exiting. It's also blown up in size.

thanks for the replies, i'll bump up the feeding and try some mysis and krill. i always watch them eat ( mostly to keep my shrimp from trying to steal the food ) and have never seen them spit anything back up.

i'm worried about preservatives though. i asked to see the box they come and it listed tripolyphosphate. while i'm not exactly sure what that is, i'm pretty sure i don't want it in my tank.

i gave each of them 2 krill followed by some mysis. i think i'm going to feed every other day until the color returns. i hope they don't split again :)

I just buy frozen shrimp so no need to have preservatives. But yes, good call on the preservative concern.

IMO, btas doing SIGNIFICANTLY better when fed foods mentioned like mysis, silversides, or bits of squid. They seem to color up and grow nicely when fed foods like mysis, squid and silversides.
