Help with Halide Purchase

Hello,


I'm interested in purchasing the Aqua Medic 250w Space Light fixture. I'm hoping to put the fixture over an Elos Mini (20 gallon). The tank will keep SPS only.

I don't really know anything about halide lighting (I'm accustomed to T5). Is this a good fixture? Will it suit my intended purpose?

What bulb does the fixture come with?

What bulb do you recommend if I'm aiming for good color and growth? Possibly a bright white with slight blue appearance (something like 4 ATI Blue plus and 4 ATI Aqua Blue Special). I need a bulb that will provide good PAR.

The 14k phoenix bulb would be a good choice. I ended up with this one and the evc 20k. The phoenix looks the closest to the 4 and 4 you are talking about. THe only other one is a single ended bulb, The radium.

Agreed, the 14k Phoenix would be the best way to go in my opinion.
