Help with health of starfish

I added this star to my tank on sunday night. and it seemed like he was adjusting well moving around alot. Last night i noticed him not moving much so i gently propped him against the glass last night and i woke up to him in the same spot but tube out those are the first few pictures from this morning. I just came home 9 hours later and he has move to the glass on the back side of the tank and crawled all the way to the top. However if you look at those picture it looks like his tubes are barely holding on to the glass. I am assuming this is signs of him dying? any way to fix nurse him back? I did drip accumulate him when i got him.

Your alkalinity should be 8.3. That is possibly off, which would make things uncomfortable. But what is he eating?

When it is up on the glass, like you had it, place some meaty food (shrimp, fish whatever) right in the 'V' of it's legs on the top side. The star should move over it and consume it right there over the next hour or so.
