Help with Ice Fire Frag

I got this Ice Fire Echinata frag about 3 months ago. At the time my Alk was too high for carbon dosing and all of my acropora showed signs of Alk burn. I have corrected that problem and the two other acros in my tank have recovered and are actually starting to grow. This Ice Fire frag is not really recovering and appears to now show increasing tissue recession. The main part of the right side of the frag is the only part that still has somewhat good color the rest has algae on it and many of the tips are starting to recede. I am looking for advice on what to do. This is my first time keeping SPS so this is all new to me. Should I wait it out or cut it? If I do cut it up, how much do I cut off? Please forgive the picture, it's the best I could get. Thanks.

Is it a real icefire, or is it a chopped Wild echinata? Low light and moderate flow while its recovering. Echinata and alkalinity fluctuations do not combine well [emoji16]

I'm not sure which it is - I got it online from Vivid Aquariums. I took your advice and put a couple of layers of screen between the light and the coral. So you think it still could recover on its own?

I would leave it as. The old death has algae growing on it and I don't see any fresh white skeleton. This means it is not currently loosing more tissue. If all stays well it can re grow over dead branches in time.
