Help with Macro shots

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out how you are all getting the awesome shots I'm seeing here. I'm shooting with a Nikon D50, I've got a Tamron 28-80mm lens as well as my Tamron 75-300mm Tele-Macro lens. I cannot even come close to getting as close as you guys can and keep it in focus.

So I'm here asking for help, what do I need to do?

Thanks,

Scott

mainly the difference is your lens. neither of those listed on true macro. if you want to go tamron, then the 90mm macro is your best bet and it will run you about $400. Its been a while since I've looked at tamron lenses but I think those are around 1:3.5 image magnification. For a true macro, you need 1:1. Just search for macro on google and learn as much as you can about shooting macro. But again, you'll eventually have to put out the $$$ for a good macro lens to get the kind of shots you see on here.

ok....so I need a true macro lens, not a telephoto "macro" lens as mine is labeled. It's what my camera package camera came with when I bought it. I read where someone hinted towards using a "tube extender" while not giving the best results, may help me take some better pictures until a true macro lens fits in my budget.

Can you comment if it's worth a few bucks for one or not?

Thanks,

Scott
