i bought a meteor a few weeks ago and now it looks like its dying...please help any thoughs im kind of new so im not sure whats wrong

Can you tell us more about what's going on? What are your parameters (SG, Ca, Kh, Mg, NO3, PO4)? What kind of lighting do you have? Where is it in the tank? Is it getting direct light or is it shaded?

IME, they are very sensitive to light. The one in my frag tank looked bad, but recovered nicely and has grown like crazy since I moved it to a more shaded area. The one in my display is placed low and gets shade, but is still getting a bit more light than it would like and has taken a while to acclimate.

BTW, I assumed that you mean meteor shower cyphastrea (red and blue coral). Is that what it is?

This??

did it get burried in the sand??kinda looks like it from that pic..maybe set it on a rock low in the tank, but they do need water movement..so put it in a flow area also..

just put it in sand was on a rock way up high...but i will put on rock on bottom and see if he comes back...

Keep it in moderate to low light off the sand and it should do well, ime.

It sounds like it was getting too much light. It'll have it's best shot at recovery where you've got it now, assuming that it's still getting good flow. To be safe, you may want too try fragging off the dead half.

not sure of water condition...

I'd check it out. The coral may be stressed by high light, but you'll want ideal water conditions to help it recover.

I can't believe Joe Dirt ended up in this thread. :spin2:
