Help with my clown.

Hi all.
I'm new to the world of saltwater fish and I've got a question regarding my ocellaris clownfish.
I've just noticed that some of it's fins look shredded and there is this white fuzz stuff on it's body right near the gills on one side, also it's not that interested in eating at all.
I only have a blue tang and that clown in my 90 litre tank at the moment and will be upgrading once I move house.
I had another clown but it unexpectedly died yesterday. I only bought these fish 4 days ago, so they haven't been in the tank very long. I did get my water tested by the shop and they said it was good to put some fish in it. It had been cycling for a month. So I'm kinda deviated that I've already lost 1 fish.

I'm not sure what is going on with my fish. If anyone can give me any idea what it could be that's on my clown will be very appreciated.

Can you list your water parameters?

It appears you already have some SPS corals in there, have there been any problems with them as well? Any signs of distress?

1 month is usually the cycle period, but there is a chance it could take up to 6-8 weeks as well from what I've read. It's all contingent on the water parameters. Do you test the water yourself as well or rely on the LFS testing? Any chance his test was wrong?

It kind of looks like ammonia burn (just finished reading up on it), but then again I haven't experienced this myself so I can't confirm it. So I don't have the exact parameters on my water as I don't have test kits at the moment except the ammonia, which I did yesterday and it looked like this:

So I'm assuming it's alright?
I will have a read through that article you linked.
Also, since I'm all new to this, what test kits would you recommend me having at home and what should I be testing from now on?
We only recently got the hammer and I'm not even sure what the other thing is called? But they have come out quiet a bit since we got them. I was surprised when I hadn't looked at the hammer for a while to see it very full from when it started. So I'm assuming that's a good thing?
Sorry for all the little questions, I just wanna do good as I'm so crazy about this hobby hehe

He doesn't looks so good now

My LFS said they will replace them, but I'm worry whatever happened to my fish will happen to the new ones.

It could be a bacterial infection of some sort. How does your blue tang look? What your salinity at and are you having big temp swings?

I just woke up and he unfortunately had died. So sad
I have one of those Aqua One Floating Hydrometer with Thermometer. And it says that safe levels are in the green which they are.
The temperature is usually without 26-27 degrees Celsius. It may have had gone up to 28 once when we had hot weather, but I don't have a chiller I just use a fan facing the water to keep it cool.

Lil blue hasn't come out of it's rocks yet, once it does come out for feeding I will check to see if her condition looks like the clowns did.

Janice, it would be beneficial for you to post your water parameters this will help us help you out. Plus it could also help others who have similar levels as you keep their fish from dying.

I don't have another tests at hand except ammonia, but I'm going to get some and update as soon as I have all the info

I'm not trying to be an ***, but I wish people wouldn't cheap out when it comes to this hobby and purchase a good test kit. It's the only way to truly know what is wrong with your animals.

I have taken to not only testing every couple of days (every day lately cause I'm stocking the tank tonight), but also recording my results in a home made log book.

Anyways, hopefully you can get us your results as I would be curious to see what happened.

Could be brooklynella - check out photos on Google and see if it matches - bad news if it does unfortunately

@Janice; your posts are now showing up As for your question about test kits, I personally have the Hagen Master Test Kit A7860, it will be all you'll need with the exception of a magnesium test kit separately and refills.

*EDIT* Irishdolphin is likely correct. Google Brooklynella it looks like that's what your clowns had. May want to check out your blue tang as it can spread very quickly.

I've looked through google and yeah the pictures seems exactly the same.

As far as the tang goes, it's looking alright so far eating like there's no tomorrow, but I did want to try and get some treatment. If formalin is correct from what I've read, I just can't seems to find it in my LFS.
I checked ebay and they have some but it's coming from another state. Hope I get it before this disease gets lil blue.
Hope my questions aren't too annoying
But I have another. Hopefully it will be my last one hehe
I don't have a QT at the moment, but will be hopefully setting up one soon, so is there anything else I can use to treat blue if needed?

You could setup a temporary quarantine tank using a bucket fill it with new RODI water mixed to the same salinity as your tank, make sure to put a heater, light, and powerhead to move the water in there.

You might want to consider restarting your tank. You never know where/what the disease has gotten into. Could be in the rock, could be in the sand, etc. I guess you could dose the tank too, but they might not fix your problem permanently.
