I made a deal with a guy in town that is getting out of the hobby. I have agreed to pay $175 for a 3" Achilles goldrim hybrid. What should I know about this fish. Did I get a good deal? What are tips for survival? Thanks in advance!
Everything in the Achilles primer thread is true from my experience. I haven't had a hybrid but Ive have both Achilles and Goldrim tangs. They love high flow and both are very aggressive.

The price was a good deal, you need to read the Achilles tang primer. They have specialized requirements that need to be met as far as QT,flow, and swimming space goes more so than other tangs IMO
It's only a good deal if you have proper swimming room and flow. As noted above, these fish need high flow as they typically occupy surge zones in the wild.

Wasn't going there since he already has the tang it sounds like? I would venture to say that he doesn't have a 265g+ tank so it will most likely be too small. These types of threads usually always end the same way, someone buys a fish they know little or nothing about and they house it in too small of tank
Well all of you are probably right. My tank is 105 gallons with lots of flow. (56x19.5x22) Maybe a little on the small side right now but I plan on upgrading later this year.

I know you have the best intentions, but let's be honest. Who actually upgrades... I'd say 5% out of the ones who say they will actually end up doing it...
