Help with placement

So I have my first sps which is a blue tort... Its about four and a half inches, under a mh in a hqi ballast. The tort has great polyp extension. But it shades itself. It was right under a set of LEDs when I bought it. So it had great light everywhere. Is it typical for it to shade itself. It's under side and the side facing out away turned brownish tan. I rotated it and moved it further up to try to help it get more light. the part that isn't shaded has amazing color... Wondering if it will correct itself or if there is something I should do to help it out.

IME it's pretty typical for the lower shaded branches not to have as good of colors as the parts exposed to direct light.

That's why those top down photos always look the best.

It will eventually correct itself over time, as the parts that get the most light will grow the fastest and spread out to receive that light.
