Help with Potassium Permanganate treatment concentration and duration?

Does anyone have any information on Potassium Permanganate treatment concentration and duration for killing Montipora eating nudibranchs?

I have read 50 mg/l (0.19 grams/gallon) for 90 minutes
http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-09/eb/index.php

I have also heard seen a lower dose at 0.1grams/gallon for 45 min but with mixed results at

If anyone has some newer or personal information on this treatment I would really be grateful!!

I am thinking of splitting the difference.

.15 grams per gallon for 60 min.

Anyone tried this before?

I sure wish I had some input for you. I really like the concept. I have only used KMnO4 in Koi ponds, for which it works really well. Powerful stuff.

Do you plan to use it in a separate hospital tank? So you can monitor the results easier?

Are you planning to dip all your montis at once to rid them of MEN all at the same time or are you planning to do some experimenting at different dosages to see what works first?

I like your dose level guess. It sounds like a good place to start.

I'm surprised someone hasn't tried KMnO4 to treat AEFW. Or have they?

Please let us know how this works for you. Good luck.

I dipped half of my montis at .15 grams per gallon for 60 min. Then rinsed them and moved them to a QT.

I haven't tried to look for eggs or nudis yet.

So far them seem OK.

I dipped and QT'd the rest of my Montis that first day.

I had some major slim production in the QT. Also some die off I suspect.

Water was very cloudy. I did a 50% water change followed by adding a bunch of activated carbon and then another 50% water change today.

Water has cleared up but I lost some of the corals. My beautiful red digi is mostly dead. Tossed out the newly dead Monti cap.

I don't remember the concentration but I used Potassium Permanganate for my monti nudis for roughly 20 minutes and it nuked all my monties. the stuff is super strong

its unfortunate, but most likely inevitable with MEN. At least you gave it a try and did something few have tried.

Looks like a total die off.
Also I have not been able to remove all of the encrusting Monti cap from the DT so I'm not even getting anywhere yet.
I lost about $200 worth of corals, some with a years grown on them.
I recently started a quarantine procedure for all fish but I guess I need to QT corals as well.
