I pick one of these guys up from LFS a couple of weeks ago. Looked healthy but has not been taking any of the food preperations I have been feeding. Have attempted, frozen mysis, flake, formula two, and green seaweed sheets. She is grazing on the live rock but is loosing body mass. She is not being bother by tank mate just doesn't seem interested.

Tanks mates: Sailfin Tang, Hippo Tang and assorted small reef fish.

Tank:
240g with roughly 180 to 200 lbs LR

Will they eat any of the common macro algaes? Have grape coulerpa (speeling?) If so I can pull some out of sump but would prefer not to.

Any suggestions?

PBT's can be picky.

I've had great luck with Julian Sprungs purple nori. I think its called sea veggies.

Soaking in garlic has also given me some help in getting picky eaters to eat.

Good luck!

Rubberband the nori to a rock so she knows it's algae. Once that connection is made, she's more likely to eat it off a clip.

I agree with SDguy. I've taught my powder blues to eat by rubber banding the nori to a piece of rubble rock and tucking it into the crevice of live rock in my qt tank.

You need to put them by themselves in qt so that they have time to learn to graze on the rubberbanded nori. Otherwise, the other fish will eat it all before they figure it out on their own.

I'd pick up a used tank setup and qt the fish so that it can get acclimated to life in your aquarium and get eating.
