It is listed as 83-85% where the dowflake listed in his original formula was 77-80%. So I'm thinking since the concentration is higher use less. Instead of 500 grams at ~ 78.5%, use 467 grams at ~84%. Either should give around 392 grams effective.

Just wondering if anyone has used this before or has any readily accessable options.

I use BRS calcium chloride. Works like a charm and is very pure.

The newer Dow Flake seems to be fine. Lots of people have used it successfully.

Yeah, but I can't find it anywhere locally. I can get the pellets at the HD in town.

By "new dowflake" do you mean Peladow?

PelaDow is fine, too. There's also Dow Flake Xtra, or something with a similar name, that seems okay.

Thanks. I can order the Peladow 50 pound bags from amazon delivered for $50. $1 a pound doesn't sound too bad.
