Help with SPS Colony Needed.

I will do. I will move a Korelia 1400 down a bit in the tank and assure that it gets some good flow.

I sure appreciate the help!!!

All that coral needs is a big ol' plate of Corky's and it'll be right as rain. Maybe a little panchos cheese dip to top it off.....

Just keep an eye on that coral. Try not to move it. If the necrosis starts spreading, you can prune the dead pieces and see if you can save the rest. I wouldn't do it unless it's spreading though. If you have to cut, cut into the healthy tissue to make sure you remove all the damaged tissue.

hehe, Corky's dry and wet ribs, and of course, their onion loaf! hmmmm so very good!

I will keep an eye on it, and will post an updated picture tomorrow evening. Parameters are good...

Alk 8.4
Calcium 450
Temp 77.8
Magnesium 1350
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Running a reactor (BRS Deluxe w/ RoX Carbon)

I will do my weekly 5 gallon water change (tank is a 75 gallon w/ 20 gal sump) tomorrow.

Should I look to run GFO in that reactor on a rotation basis?

This tank HAS NO FISH in it...My family is wanting that to change soon, but I love corals. :)

Thanks again all!

I'd remove the ROX carbon. That's very aggressive stuff, especially for a tank with no fish in it. How do you have 10ppm nitrates with no fish? Is this a new tank?

Being that this may be a new tank and it is a 4 - 6 inch colony, I'm going to assume this is one of their maricultured pieces that was grown out in a shallow lagoon in the Fiji Islands. If so, these aren't exactly the easiest pieces to keep, especially in a new tank with no bioload. Many times these pieces will RTN or STN in a perfectly capable and established SPS tank that's thriving. They really are hit or miss. Looking at how far along it is, I wouldn't get my hopes up. I'd also start adding some small fish and feeding them, because your other corals may start getting pale as well.
