Help with stand on a 290ish

Hello all,
I am having a 114 x 24 x 24 glass tank built. I have a friend that states he can get a metal stand built for me or I can build one out of wood. My question is I know I can built a heck of a wood stand but I know nothing really about metal does this sound right, a metal stand,w/ 6 legs and a plate across the bottom to help distribute weight for the tank size you are looking at.
I believe 1t was 1 1/2" box metal 1/8" thick.

when you say a plate across the bottom, most people just use the same square tubing that the sand was built out of for the bottom. that way there is 1.5" tube across the bottom. this will distribute the weight even more.

also, is the tank going to be inwall or in the room.

The tank is going to be in a room. It I went with the metal stand I would build a wood covering.

Yup, just use the same tubing to run across the bottom of the legs.. 6 legs sounds like plenty , will give u a leg less than every 2 feet.
