Help with the Ammonia Spiking

Ok so today added some coral to my 12g nano and had a little ammonia spike. Ammonia reads .50ppm at the time. Tested my water in the morning and everything is good. So I'd say maybe a few hours since it had ammonia. Any suggestions? Think I should do that water change right now?

If the ammonia is back to zero there is no urgency but you need to find out why it spiked, usually adding a coral does not do that.

The tank has been cycling for about a month. Only the CUC was living in it for like 2 weeks. Just started to add coral last night, and one today I'd say about 3PM. I have no fish in the tank nor do I do any kind of feeding.

How much rock you have in there? You may need about 10 pounds for proper filtration. Go slow with the additions, if you do not have snails get some.

Hey sorry I never replied the site was down ... but its all good now when I woke up the ammonia was down to zero again. Added 2 lbs of rock today cured stuff so its good.
