So I got new to me led lightning. It's 165 watts pushing 2 watts per led 55 led light. And no matter where I place my torch it never extends to open up. it's been a couple months now. Currently I have the light 20 inches off the sand bed as this is where my friends had it placed. Originally the coal was kept under the stock pc biocube lights. Any help world be great

What intensity are you running these LEDs? I assume from your description that these are the chinese LEDs? When transitioning corals from PC to LEDs it would need to be a few weeks of slow acclimation. Also how high off the water do you have the lights?

There at 100% non dimmable. When I added the light I only ran it for a couple hours a day. And slowly increased time over the course of 2 months so as to not to shock things too bad. Nothing bleached so that was good. Lights are 8 or 9 inches off the water and 20 inches from the sand bed

I can't help you there, except to say in MH, it takes anything from 10000k to 13000 k near the top of the tank.

One thing not to discount is water chemistry: it likes 8.3 alk, 420 cal, 1300 mg. And it's cranky if downcurrent from a softie.
