HELP.zoos are covered in SOMETHING

I dont know what this stuff is, but I pulled about 4 polyps coverded in it and they were like STONE.
I thought I might brush them off with a toothbrush and fresh water dip them, The only thing about that is I have ricordia on the same rock. Any suggestions would help.

I have something like that... I was just using tweezers, tiny sharp scissors and clips to remove most of those things...

I had some of that on a small frag of zoas i put into my tank. I guess my crabs just picked it off. Now it's completely gone.....
