How can I make this sump use the dual corner flo system? Its looks like its made for one so I guess I have some spliting ahead of me. I also have an extra pump from a 120 that I could supplment with this system is comes with 2 Pumps one for the p.skimmer and one for the sump. Any suggestions would be help full I'm just looking for max filtration and water movement.

Tie the two overflows into a common drain to the sump. Just a note, you do not want max flow through the sump. You achieve your required flow in the tank via powerheads or a closed loop system.

Same on the return. I have a 150 Oceanic with dual overflows about 12" in I break off equally to each dual output.

If you have two returns, there are many options, but one would be to use the same dedicated return pump, then go up to a scwd then out to both returns. This way you could get a great alternating return flow. Just a thought. I wish I would have drilled two returns.

There are many ways to make it drain, but only 1 or two that will make it drain quietly.

"clnreef" Thanks I jus cant wait to get it up and going. But we all now how that is! Thanks to all who provided help!!

Well that stand was custom made my pops had a 120 freash a couple of years ago and got rid of the tank and held on to the stand just in case but after he filled his room up with all his military plaques he didnt have the room anymore so I needed a big tank to take up a good amount of wall space in my new house and a 150 was just right!!

1st day of the 150 setup super cloudy at first with about 40 or 50 lbs of crushed coral at the bottom and a lil over half a bucket of Instant Ocean.

Now I need some info I had to go to my LFS and get more Bio Balls cause about 20 came with my sump that didnt even fill the chamber where they are now. So after the LFS run I filled the chamber up and they had this neat thing there that looked like a sock that was on alot of there display tank returns that helped to quite the tank down alot. "Splash Splash" So all is well in that area now I need some input. My sump is about 20 Gal I think and as you can see my water level is high. If the power went off I would have to take my wedding ring off and pack a nap sac. Ha Ha lol !! So what Im trying to find out is what options do I have to stop the water from running over the sump if all else fails. I was thinking about getting another 20 or 30 gal and having a glass pro come to the house and drill 1 or 2 holes in the sump that you see now above the water line for the bio ball chamber and use 1 or 2 of the lil black port hole looking things that the overflows and returns sit in I have no idea what they are called. Then run 2 tubes from the sump to a over flow dry tank.

I'd get rid of the bio balls if I were you. Your live rock will do the trick within your tank. The bio balls will become a farm for nitrates and later unwanted algae.

If I were you, with a tank that size I'd have at least a 55 gal sump depending on what you are trying to achieve with this tank.

Is this a fish only tank?

Is this a fish only with live rock?

Is this a reef tank?

Is this a reef tank with softies, lps or sps?

Scuba guy thanks I'm trying to set up a fish only with live rock tank. So I should get rid of the bio balls then? What about the other Idea of adding a overflow tank to the sump I have now "no go"?

An overflow would probly be a good idea. I'd add some sand to bing your sand bed up to 6 inches. aquarium grade dry argonite would do the trick especially for when you get the bug to switch to a reef system( which always happens no matter how much you plan not to).

Oh ya thet is on my list of things to get argonite is what I have in that tank now. I just wanted to get a few bags this weekend to have some thing to look while the tank dose it's thing. Ha Ha ya that reef system now thats some cool stuff I like all the frags and bits and lil things that you can add to the tank. Do you have any Ideas for the overflow??

I would plumb both drains independent of each other. There is less chance for headaches that way. The return lines are not so critical you can plumb them anyway you want, just keep the nozzles close to the surface and leave enough room for the back-flow in the sump when you set it up. It's a good idea to put a ball valve inline between the pump and the DT to give yourself some control over the flow thru the tank. I would also knock a hole in the wall behind the tank and the next room over becomes my XL Sump room for my new XL sump and fuge that I would get

Very nice looking tank

when setting up a tank this size always consider the future possibility of expansion. I dont really see a way to set up an overflow for that sump without drilling it. but I also have never needed or done an overflow foryour purposes.
