does anybody know to change water in a holding tank thats treating the fish with copper, do i use newly prepare water or old tank water?

Always use new, freshly prepared saltwater. Adjust it to the same pH, temperature, and salinity as the water you are changing. Add the copper medication to the new water so that the copper concentration is the therapeutic concentration recommended by the copper medication manufacturer.

If you use contaminated water from a tank that had the fish in it with Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) you would be constantly have to battle a new parasites coming into the treatment tank.
