Same Setup as you
Hi PYT,
I have the exact same setup, except I was able to fit 5 T-5's under the canopy. Fans are definitely a necessity. You could put your bulbs a bit closer to the water for more intensity. Read about why on the lighting forum.
I just had to re-create a user name since I had my old account tied to a work account and I cant remember my old password.
so I dont have my pics. I will post soon.
Because our tanks are so tall, and thin on the ends, I ended up building a pvc frame and then mounting my LR to it with zip ties. It worked really great, and now they are covered with algae, etc. You cant even see the zip ties. It helps utilize the space more in order to mount SPS higher in the tank when needed.
To save you some money down the road, mushrooms will generally not live in a T-5 lighted tank. It has something to do with the Par. I had MH before, and had lots of shrooms, but all have disappeared over the past year with my T-5's. This is not uncommon. I will try to get some pics up for you to look at what I did.
My Best,
Josh
